Northern Cross Country Championships – 25/01/2020

Under 17 Ladies – Esther Rowe-Towle (City of Sheffield & Dearne) was running for the first time this season after a few niggles which kept her from running the Yorkshires. After a good few weeks of training we decided to give it a go. Esther stuck to the plan and finished an excellent 2nd place. Neve Hardcastle (Longwood Harriers) is having a great season and the form continued here with an excellent 4th place. Neve still has another year in this age group. Well done girls a few hard months now and hopefully we will be ready to challenge at the English Schools Championships.

Under 20 Ladies – Cyane Robinson (Rotherham Harriers) had an excellent run to finish in 5th place and the same time as 4th place and only 8 seconds away from a medal. Cyane is getting into much better shape now and will be looking forward to the bigger races coming up with British University Championships next up.

Under 15 Girls – Holly Brewster (Longwood Harriers) ran very well also in a very strong field to finish 5th. This for me was the strongest field so for Holly to finish 5th and get amongst girls that she was no where near last year was a great achievement. First year Bobbie Waugh (Sheffield Tri Club) had a solid run to finish 50th out of the 182 finishes.

Under 13 Girls – Issy Waugh (Sheffield Tri Club) is also having a great season so far and ran really well again here to finish 5th place and the same time as 4th place. Issy still has next year as an Under 13 so a very impressive performance. Heather Berry (Rotherham Harriers) again like Issy still has next year in this age group ran well to finish 84th out of the 210 finishes.

Under 13 Boys – George Wallace (City of Sheffield & Dearne) is having a great season and followed that up here with a superb 23rd out of the 186 finishes. George is a great example of you get out what you put in. Well done George keep working hard.

Under 15 Boys – Zak Feguson (Rotherham Harriers) has really got his head down since Christmas. Another great run here to finish 25th out of the 167 finishes. Zak also has another year in this age group. Next up for Zak will be the Northern Indoor Championships where he will race over 800 metres.

Well done everyone …..
