A relatively small turn out here for Team Russell – but again saw some excellent performances and Team Russell records and a few people competing for the first time under our Team.
It was our Under 11 Boys that were on fire at this meeting :
George Connelly started it of with a superb time in the 60m and is getting closer to going under 9 seconds and for an Under 11 Boy that is pretty impressive. He then went on to record another personal best and Team Russell record in the Long Jump and again is getting closer to the 4 metre barrier which would be an amazing distance for an under 11 Boy. Well done George.
Elliot Reed also had a busy and superb day. Setting a new Team Russell record in the 800m and running 10 seconds than he had previously. Elliot is also having a great cross country season and by the summer should see Elliot get close to running under 2.40 which again for an Under 11 Boy is pretty impressive. Elliot also ran a personal best in the 200m and came very close to his best over 60m. Well done Elliot.
It was also good to see twins George and Daisy Kriel Parr competing for the first time on the track. Both very talented athletes and with a few more months hard work before the track season should see some impressive performances this summer. If we could persuade Daisy to concentrate more on her athletics than her swimming then I am 100 percent sure she would challenge some very impressive Team Russell Records.
