South Yorkshire Cross Country League – Fixture 2

The second league meeting of the season held at Campsall. Another great turn out with nine of our athletes competing with some excellent individual performances again.

Will Platts who is on fire at the moment after winning the first league meeting at Clifton Park and then ran the fastest leg at the Northern Cross Country relays last weekend had another great run here coming away a convincing winner. Issy Waugh who like Will won the first meeting at Clifton Park again ran strongly here to come away with another convincing win. Annie Naylor just like Will and Issy won the first meeting at Clifton Park and had an excellent run at the Northern Cross Country relays last weekend and continued that superb form here. Annie came out on top again again to continue her unbeaten start to the season. Well done you three keep working hard.

Rebecca Evans is getting stronger every week had the race of her life here. After a disappointing first League race having to drop out with 600 metres to go made up for that here. Setting of a little more conservative and working through the field Rebecca finished a superb 3rd place behind two very good Rotherham Harriers. Bobbie Waugh who is just coming back from quite a long lay with an injury wasn’t sure whether to run here or not. Deciding to give it a go only after a few weeks back training Bobbie followed Rebecca home in an excellent 4th place. Elliot English who decided to run here instead of playing football had a good run to finish in 5th place improving on his 7th place from the first meeting. Heather Berry who finished 10th in the first meeting had an excellent run here and improved to 6th place. First year Under 13 Boy George Wallace held his own in a very strong field here finishing in 10th place. George Bellamy who is struggling with a knee injury decided to give it a go and it held up and George finished in 10th place.

Well done everyone keeping working hard.
