This weekend saw the 4th fixture of the South Yorkshire Track and Field League held at Cudworth which saw plenty of personal best and a few Team Russell Records. We then had some great results at the Graves Park Junior Run (2k) what is becoming a popular event for our younger athletes.
South Yorkshire Track and Field League :
Team Russell Records – Will Platts is on fire at the moment and came away with 1st place in the Under 11 600 metres setting a new personal best by 2 seconds beating his own record in a very impressive 1.46. Issy Waugh also had a great run and set a personal best by half a second finishing 3rd on the day to beat her previous record by almost half a second.
Personal Best – Fletch Wild had a very busy day setting personal best in both the 80m and 600m and now ranks number 2 all time in these events. Elliot English set a big personal best in the Under 11 Boys 600 metres going 5th on the all time rankings. Bobbie Waugh went number 3 on the all time list for Under 13 Girls 200 metres with almost half a second personal best.
A big well done also Ella Kynoch (1st Disucs), Josh Kynoch (1st Shot), Annie Naylor 2nd 1500m) and Polly Platts who had some great results and weren’t too far away from their personal best.
Graves Park Junior Run :
Zak Ferguson and George Bellamy went head to head after a really tough session session the day before so both running on tired legs. They were both given the same time but Zak just edged it on the line coming away with the win. Their times were a course record ….. Will Platts again set a personal best and finished 4th overall on the day. George Wallace was competing for the first time running really well to finish in 8th. Alfie Ferguson also set a new personal best finishing in 19th place.
Well done everyone another great weekend for Team Russell …………..
