London Mini Marathon

We had three people competing here in what is one of the biggest events of the year for Junior athletes. Having been chosen to represent Yorkshire and Humberside against the countries best runners Cyane, Annie and Zak all had great runs.

Zak – After struggling over the last few weeks Zak found some excellent form when it mattered most. Running a superb time of 17.21 mins this was good enough for 25th place on the day out of the 62 runners that finished. With still next year in the age group I am sure Zak will be challenging for a top 10 finish next year.

Annie Naylor who had been ill the previous week and missed a few sessions ran really well to come home in 19.31 mins finishing 38th out of the 65 runners. Annie said to me she is determined to be back next year as she enjoyed the whole experience.

Cyane Robinson – A great cross country season for Cyane this year and followed this on here with a great run. With a finishing time of 18.02 mins this was good enough for 24th place out of the 70 runners that finished. Although wanting a slightly quicker time this was a good solid run and bodes well for the track season ahead of us. Cyane will be running the 1500m on Tuesday night over in Manchester where she hopes to get the English Schools qualifying time. We will then go on and run some 800’s and decide what event to run at the English Schools.

Well done everyone ……
