National Cross Country Relays – Mansfield

Under 13 Boys – A great effort from our boys although they were a little disappointed at the end as we were wanting a top 10 finish. Adam had been on holiday in Spain all week and only got back Friday night and Jamie had been ill all week and had not managed to run. So to come home in 23rd place out of the 97 teams was a good solid effort boys.

First year Zak had the tough task of the first leg. He ran really well against the countries best runners to bring the team home in 38th place and it shows just how close these races are as if Zak would have run 12 seconds faster he would have been in the top 20. Adam Hirst took over and ran a good solid race to move to the team up to 22nd place overall. Jamie Rhodes wasn’t quite at his best after been ill all week but gave it a good go and came home in 23rd place. Well done boys great effort.

Cyane Robinson was running the last leg for Rotherham Harries Under 17 Ladies team. Again Cyane was slightly disappointed afterwards as she just missed out on a medal and brought the team home in 4th place. But after sitting down and reflecting on the run. We worked out Cyane’s time was 13th fastest on the day, 6th fastest Northern girl and 2nd fastest Yorkshire runner. Well done Cyane a great effort …
